Sigil was the track that began the journey of the entire disc and acts as an incidental tone setter for the theme of the album - learning how to endure and control your own chaos while you sift through the chaos surrounding you. The direct theme of the song is about those who worship and flag-fly for higher powers who profit from the bloodshed, be it verbal, literal, or otherwise. It spirals out of control and gives you a sense of real anxiety.
